Minor flood impacts could affect isolated properties and farm buildings near Slaughter Bridge on the Coolham Road, as well as fields and rural roads between Coolham, and Henfield and fields near Church Close, Shipley. Further periods of rain are forecast today (Sunday 05/01/2025) which will likely cause the River Adur to rise again, or slow the fall. River levels should peak similar to New Years. Property flooding is not currently expected. Some roads may be affected by flood water, including the Coolham Road at Slaughter Bridge. From 20:00 (06/05/2024) minor flood impacts could affect isolated properties and farm buildings near Slaughter Bridge on the Coolham Road, as well as fields and rural roads between Coolham and Henfield, including fields near Church Close, Shipley. Rain will finally clear the area by 19:00 (06/05/2024), and high pressure, bringing settled and dry weather, is forecast for the next five days. Water levels in the River Adur are rising quickly following 25 mm of heavy rain this afternoon due to Storm Ciara. From 23:00 this evening (09/02/2020) minor impact flooding, with shallow depths could affect isolated properties in Coolham (Garage at Slaughter Bridge), and fields and riverbanks through Shipley. Further rain is possible tonight (09/02/2020) which will likely cause water levels to rise further. The river will peak by 04:00 tomorrow (10/02/2020). We expect river levels to remain high tomorrow, 10/02/20, as further rainfall is forecast over the next 24hrs. Some roads may become impassable, please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast.
