Further periods of rain are forecast today (Sunday 05/01/2025) which will likely cause the River Adur to rise again, or slow the fall. River levels should peak similar to New Years. Water levels in the River Adur are rising quickly following 25 mm of heavy rain this afternoon due to Storm Ciara. From 23:00 this evening (09/02/2020) minor impact flooding, with shallow depths could affect isolated properties in Coolham (Garage at Slaughter Bridge), and fields and riverbanks through Shipley. Further rain is possible tonight (09/02/2020) which will likely cause water levels to rise further. The river will peak by 04:00 tomorrow (10/02/2020). We expect river levels to remain high tomorrow, 10/02/20, as further rainfall is forecast over the next 24hrs. Some roads may become impassable, please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast.
